Set up and manage SMTP credentials

Customize your WarrantyHub email events to suit your company preference. The "From" address will utilize an SMTP service of your choosing for sending outgoing replies.
InfoPermission Required: Users with the Settings permission can access this feature.

Set up SMTP with Gmail

Step 1: Set up 2-Step Verification in Gmail

Before you can use Gmail’s SMTP server, you need to generate an app password.
  1. Log in to your Google Account.
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner, and select Manage your Google Account.
  3. Enable 2-Step Verification: Navigate to Security in the left menu and turn on 2-Step Verification.
  4. At the bottom of the 2-Step Verification page, select App passwords.
  5. Enter a name to help you remember where you'll use this password, then select Generate.
  6. Use this generated password instead of your regular Gmail password for the SMTP settings in WarrantyHub.

Step 2: Add SMTP credentials in WarrantyHub

  1. In WarrantyHub, go to Settings.
  2. Select Misc Settings.
  3. Scroll to the SMTP Credentials section.
  4. Tick the box labeled Enable SMTP.
  5. Enter the Server Name: smtp.gmail.com
  6. Enter the Port Number for the server: 587.
  7. Enter your SMTP Username (format - you@yourdomain.com).
  8. Enter the App Password generated in Gmail.
  9. Select the encryption type: Use STARTTLS (Explicit TLS).
  10. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.

Step 1: Setup SMTP using Microsoft 365 or Office 365

Step 2: Add SMTP credentials in WarrantyHub

  1. In WarrantyHub, go to Settings.
  2. Select Misc Settings.
  3. Scroll to the SMTP Credentials section.
  4. Tick the box labeled Enable SMTP.
  5. Enter the Server Name: smtp.office365.com
  6. Enter the Port Number for the server: 587.
  7. Enter your SMTP Username (format - you@yourdomain.com).
  8. Enter the App Password.
  9. Select the encryption type: Use STARTTLS (Explicit TLS).
  10. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
